Melissa DeBrouwer graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1991 and began her financial planning career in 1994. She joined Bick Financial Security Corporation in 1999 and set up Bick’s first branch office in Milton, focusing on financial planning for individuals, families and business owners.
A Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a member of the Financial Planners Standards Council of Canada (FPSCC), Melissa practices according to FPSCC standards and abides to a strict professional Code of Ethics. Her in-depth knowledge of the financial industry enables her to design custom financial plans for her clients to help them achieve their goals. Melissa has appeared on TVO’s Money Talk and in articles in Advisor’s Edge and Investment Executive.
Melissa is active in the Milton community. She was nominated for Milton’s Business Woman of the Year Award in 1999 and served as President of the Milton Chamber of Commerce in 2003. Melissa and her husband, Dr. Stephen Ball, live in Milton and enjoy golf, travel and gardening. |

Jackie Jones“ and Melissa joined forces in 1998 and she is very proud to be part of Melissa’s business as it grows and flourishes with satisfied clients achieving their life long dreams. Jackie brings a wealth of experience having lived and worked in England and the Middle East before moving to the Milton area with her family. Jackie’s genuine concern for each client’s well being shows itself repeatedly in her concern and interest in our clients and attention to detail. Jackie takes care of running of the office, organizes customer appreciation and seminar events and the daily administration of your plan so that Melissa can focus on financial planning, tax and investment issues. Jackie strongly believes in “giving back” and has been a volunteer in various ways supporting her community since she arrived in 1982. To relax, she works in her garden.”

Donna Blairis a key member of our team. She is responsible for special projects as well as the administration of clients' portfolios. Donna has over 20 years experience in the financial field, has worked with mutual funds since 1998 and has held a mutual funds license since 2000. Donna joined Bick in 2003 and lives in Moffat with her husband Don. She supports her community and serves as Secretary of the Milton Curling Club Day Ladies Board. She enjoys curling in the winter and golf in the summer.

Brenda Ward is our receptionist and the newest member of Melissa's team. She brings to Bick Financial Milton a solid background and years of experience in customer service, administration and banking. Before settling in Milton, Brenda enjoyed traveling the world while working for the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Department of the Government of Canada. Brenda and her husband, Dwight, live in Milton and have a daughter, Caitlin, and son, Quinn.
